But the reality is, most gamers accumulate lots of games over the years and rarely revisit the vast majority of them, if ever.

As to your point about back compat – that’s why they mostly only added it for important games, like Red Dead Redemption 1 and didn’t add every game.

But yes, the majority of games are complete once, sit on shelf for years.
